What a proper A/C visit looks like
We start with a performance test — vent temperature, pressures on both sides of the system, compressor engagement. If the system is low we add dye or use an electronic sniffer to find where it’s leaking. Then you get a written quote for the actual repair, with the recharge included.
R134a vs. R1234yf
Cars built before roughly 2021 use R134a. Newer vehicles use R1234yf, which is far more expensive per ounce and requires different recovery equipment — that’s why the service price is higher. We service both.

The service is $135 plus refrigerant at $2.20 per ounce — most cars take 10+ ounces. Vehicles on R1234yf (most 2021 and newer) are $370 plus refrigerant because the equipment and gas cost far more.
Why do you recommend a diagnostic first?
Because a properly sealed A/C system never needs a recharge. If it's low, refrigerant is escaping. Finding the leak first means you fix it once.
How long does it take?
R134a service is 30–45 minutes. R1234yf takes about 3 hours.
