Diesel and the smog check
Diesel vehicles 1998 and newer with a GVWR under 14,000 lb need a smog in California. The test is different from a gas car — it’s an OBD and visual inspection, and a lit check engine light fails it just the same. If the light is on, book the diagnostic first.

Why is the diesel diagnostic $250?
Diesel diagnostics take longer and use specialized equipment. The $250 fee is not credited toward the repair.
Do you work on lifted or dually trucks?
Yes. Duallies and heavier trucks may have different pricing for inspections like the VSSI; call for a quote.
